How to verify a random draw
An auditable draw should leave a trail anyone can check. On EntropyDraw the permanent proof page is /d/{id} — with hashes, locked rules, beacon round and a verification checklist.
Steps
- Open
/d/{id}or scan the QR code - Open the public drand round and confirm randomness matches the page
- Confirm
SHA-256(signature) = randomness - Confirm locked range or list, description and draw ID (for lists, also the list commit hash you published before the draw)
- Rebuild the v2 draw hash and run rejection sampling; compare with the published result
What a match proves
If hashes and parameters line up, the published number is the deterministic outcome of those locked inputs plus the beacon. Changing any locked input would produce a different hash. It does not prove the list was socially fair before lock time.
Try it
Run a draw on the EntropyDraw home page, share /d/{id} while it is still waiting, then follow the checklist when it resolves.
